Welcome Widget Global and Individual Overview

Welcome Widget

The Welcome Widget is placed on top of the Overview page. It provides you a quick information about the status of synchronization for site(s) and two useful buttons

  1. Sync Data with Child Sites – triggers the synchronization process which will load fresh data from your Child Sites
  2. Get New Extensions – quick link to the MainWP Extensions shop where you can get Extensions for the MainWP plugin.

The Show Shortcuts link will expand the widget and additional shortcuts will appearWelcome Widget Shotcuts

Update Overview Widget Global and Individual Overview

Right Now Widget

The Update Overview widget can be split in two sections

  1. Updates – includes updates for WordPress Core, Plugins, Themes and Language Packs (if enabled in MainWP Settings)
  2. Possibly Abandoned Plugins and Themes – displays a list of possibly abandoned plugins and themes.

Updates section is divided into multiple separate sections:

  1. Total updates – allows you to update everything across your Child Sites
  2. WP Core updates – allows you to update all or individual WordPress Core files per site or globally
  3. Language pack updates – allows you to update all or individual language packs per site or globally
  4. Plugins updates – allows you to update all or individual plugins per site, per plugin or globally
  5. Theme updates – allows you to update all or individual themes per site, per theme or globally

To see individual available updates, you can expand a list of updates

Possibly Abandoned Plugins and Themes splits into two sub-sections

  1. Possibly Abandoned Plugins – allows you to see a list of possibly abandoned plugins
  2. Possibly Abandoned Themes – allows you to see a list of possibly abandoned themes

To see a list of possibly abandoned plugins or themes, use the provided link to expand the list.

The Update Overview widget allows you to switch the way you see (update) available updates. Use the provided dropdown menu to switch the more from Per Site to Per Plugin/Theme and opposite.

Connection Status Widget Global and Individual Overview

Sync Status

This widget allows you to see the current status of your Child Sites and if they are synced recently.

  • The left column of the widget shows the list of your child sites and by clicking a Child Site friendly name you can access the Individual Child Site Dashboard for the Child Site.
  • The middle column shows the last sync time/date
  • The Right column shows the current status of Child Sites
    • If a Child Site is not synced in last 24 hours, the Sync action will be displayed and you can symply sync the Child Site
    • If a Child Site is disconnected the Reconnect action will appear and you can quickly reconnect the Child Site

On the Individual Child Site Dashboard, this widget shows info only for that one Child Site.

By default, the widget will show only sites that are disconnected or not synced correctly, however, if you want to see the full list, use the Show online sites button.

Recent Posts Widget Global and Individual Overview

Recent Posts Widget

This widget allows you to see Posts that have been created recently on your Child Sites. It shows last 5 Posts.

  • The left column shows Post Title and in the action row, you can find actions for managing the post.Recent Posts - Action Row
    • Unpublish – will unpublish the post change the post status to draft
    • Edit – opens the post in iframe where you can edit the post
    • Trash – deletes the post and but it doesn’t delete it permanently
    • View – opens the post on the Child Site front-end
    • View All – lists all posts from the Child Site
    • Publish (available only for Draft and Pending posts) – publishes the post
    • Restore (available only for Trashed posts) – restores the post to a previous status
    • Delete Permanently (available only for Trashed posts) – deletes the post permanently
  • The middle column shows number of comments for the post
  • The right column shows a Child Site where the post has been Published or updated along with the publishing date.

The navigation at the top of the widget, allows you to toggle between Post Statuses.Recent Posts - Navigation

The Add New button will lead you to the MainWP > Posts > Add New page where you can create a new post on your Child Sites.

On the Individual Child Site Dashboard, the widget will display only last 5 posts from just that one Child Site.

Recent Pages Widget Global and Individual Overview

Recent Pages Widget

This widget allows you to see Pages that have been created recently on your Child Sites. It shows last 5 Pages.

  • The left column shows PageTitle and in the action row, you can find actions for managing the pages.Recent Pages - Action Row
    • Unpublish – will unpublish the page change the page status to draft
    • Edit – opens the page in iframe where you can edit the page
    • Trash – deletes the page and but it doesn’t delete it permanently
    • View – opens the page on the Child Site front-end

The Add New button will lead you to the MainWP > Pages > Add New page where you can create a new page on your Child Sites.

Security Issues Widget Global and Individual Overview

Security Issues Widget

This widget provides you a brief overview of security issues that the MainWP Dashboard detects on your Child Sites.In the initial state of the widget, you can see a number of detected security issues, the Show All link that will expand the widget to show you more details and the Fix All button that will attempt to fix all detected security issues on all your Child Sites.

After expanding the list, you will be able to see more details.

Securtiy Issues List

  • The left column displays Child Site friendly name. If you click a Child Site name, the link will lead you to the Security Issues page, where you can see all detected issues and fix them one-by-one.
  • The middle column shows a number of detected issues on the Child Site
  • The right column provides you a button to Fix All security issues on the Child Site

On the individual Child Site Dashboard, the widget will display only security issues for only that Child Site.

Extensions Widget Global Overview

This widget will show all installed MainWP Extensions.

  • The left column shows extensions names
  • The middle column shows the extension version
  • The right column shows if the extension is activated with an API Key or not.

Helpful Links Widget Global Overview

This widget gives you direct links to the most important pages outside of your MainWP Dashboard.

MainWP Blogroll Widget Global Overview

MainWP Blogroll Widget

The MainWP blogroll shows the most recent super awesome MainWP blog posts!

We require it to be turned on since your Dashboard needs to ping the MainWP RSS feed which could technically be considered a “phone home” which is against WordPress.org plugin rules if you don’t first inform users.

I recommend turning it on since we’ve hired a great writer, Todd Jones. He does some really great blog posts about WordPress, MainWP and running a WordPress business.

Plugins Widget Individual Overview

This widget will show yo all installed plugins on the Child Site.

The left column shows plugins names along with the plugin version. By clicking a plugin name, you can see the plugin information.

The right column provides you ability to

  • Deactivate (available only for active plugins) – deactivates the plugin on the Child Site
  • Activate (available only for inactive plugins) – activates the plugin on the Child Site
  • Delete (available only for inactive plugins) – deletes the plugin from the Child Site

Use the widget navigation to switch between Active and Inactive plugins.

Themes Widget Individual Overview

This widget will show yo all installed themes on the Child Site.

The left column shows themes names along with the theme version. By clicking a theme name, you can see the theme information.

The right column provides you ability to

  • Activate (available only for inactive plugins) – activates the plugin on the Child Site
  • Delete (available only for inactive plugins) – deletes the plugin from the Child Site

Use the widget navigation to switch between Active and Inactive themes.

Shortcuts Widget Individual Overview

This widget allows you to

  • see site group(s) where the Child Site has been assigned
  • open notes for the Child Site
  • quickly Jump to WP Admin or Front Page of the Child Site
  • quickly access to the Child Site Edit page or Security Scan page

Notes Widget Individual Overview

Notes Widget

This widget allows you to see saved notes for the Child Site and also to quickly edit the notes by clicking the Edit Notes button.
