Security Ninja for MainWP is a free MainWP add-on that lets you check the security score and known vulnerable plugins of every child site running the Security Ninja plugin from your MainWP Dashboard. From MainWP you can also run security scans and change Security Ninja settings on your child sites. The WP Security Ninja team develops it.

Reading a site’s security score, running scans or changing Security Ninja settings takes a login to that site’s WP Admin, one site at a time, because Security Ninja runs on each site you manage. Security Ninja for MainWP brings those results and settings into your MainWP Dashboard for all your child sites.

Requirements
You install Security Ninja for MainWP on your MainWP Dashboard and the Security Ninja plugin on each child site.

Setup: install both plugins, sync
Setting up Security Ninja for MainWP means installing it on your Dashboard, installing Security Ninja on your child sites and syncing.
Install the add-on and Security Ninja
- Install Security Ninja for MainWP on your MainWP Dashboard site. You can download it from this page or from its WordPress.org page.
- Install and activate the Security Ninja plugin on each child site. Child sites get Security Ninja itself, and the MainWP add-on stays on your Dashboard.
Open Security Ninja in MainWP
- Sync your sites so your Dashboard picks up the Security Ninja data from them.
- In MainWP, click Security Ninja in the left menu.

How results reach your Dashboard
Security Ninja for MainWP runs on your MainWP Dashboard and works with the Security Ninja plugin on each child site. What you see is the data from each site’s last sync, so sync a site again after you run scans to see the updated results. Successful settings changes refresh the synced data automatically. Child sites on an older Security Ninja version stay usable, and for actions that need a newer version the add-on shows an upgrade message.

Can I run Security Ninja scans from MainWP?
Yes, the Security Ninja for MainWP Run all security scans action starts Security Tests and Core Scanner on your child sites, and the Run scans button on a site’s Scan results tab does the same for one site. Sync the site again afterwards to see the new results.
Which Security Ninja version do my child sites need?
Child sites need Security Ninja 5.285 or later for the Settings editor and IP management in Security Ninja for MainWP, and 5.297 or later for the bulk Update vulnerabilities action. Sites on an older version get an upgrade message for those actions.
Can I add Security Ninja data to client reports?
Yes, you can add Security Ninja data to client reports with the Pro Reports Extension. The add-on supplies tokens such as [securityninja.score], [securityninja.vulnerabilities] and [securityninja.vulnerabilities.table], which appear in the Pro Reports token list and the Insert tokens modal.
What do I need to pay for?
Security Ninja for MainWP itself is free to download from this page or from its WordPress.org page. Your child sites need the Security Ninja plugin, which has a free version and a Pro version, and some of the data synced to MainWP needs Security Ninja Pro on the child site.
