Research and Development at MainWP

Over the past week, the MainWP team concentrated on research, planning, and technical evaluation to support the platform’s continued evolution. This phase of development includes assessing community feedback, refining ideas, exploring implementation approaches, and determining where future efforts will deliver the greatest benefit. Although there are no major feature announcements this week, this work is an important part of ensuring that future updates are well designed, thoroughly tested, and focused on the needs of the MainWP community. We’ll continue sharing our progress as research turns into development and new improvements begin to roll out.

New Third-Party Integration: Site Lockdown Security

WP Fix It has introduced Site Lockdown Security for MainWP, giving you centralized visibility and control over your connected WordPress sites. Review protection status, sync lock data in bulk, manage lockdown settings, and identify sites that need attention from one place instead of signing in to each site separately.

Documentation Updates

Dashboard Lock Extension now better explains the current Security Add-ons path, how frontend redirect rules handle cron and /wp-json requests, and exactly which restrictions are removed when using Remove Locks.

Updated Jetpack Protect Extension clarifies setup requirements, vulnerability reporting for WordPress core, plugins, themes, files, and database items, supported remediation actions, bulk actions, and the extension’s REST API endpoint.

The WordPress SEO / Yoast SEO Extension was refreshed with current naming, Content Operations navigation, template import and apply steps, and updated workflows for publishing posts and pages with SEO settings.

URL Extractor Extension was updated with the current Add-ons navigation, clearer CSV/TXT export guidance, and updated instructions for increasing the number of posts returned from a child site.

Research and development remain an ongoing part of MainWP as we continue refining the platform and exploring new opportunities. We’ll keep sharing updates as that work leads to new features, integrations, and documentation improvements.
