What’s New at MainWP 10/8/2025

Fresh Updates, Your Voice in Early Release, and Awards Season
It’s another busy week at MainWP. We’ve released new updates for both the Dashboard and Child plugins, we’re still leaning on your feedback in the Early Release Program to shape what’s next, and awards season is in full swing with TemplateMonster’s voting underway (We’re still Number 1!). We’ve also added a couple of new Knowledgebase articles to help you work smarter, and of course we’ve got a fresh poll to get your take on security; one of those things that never really leaves the spotlight.
Product Updates
We’ve put out maintenance releases for both the MainWP Dashboard and Child plugins this week, tightening things up and smoothing rough edges.
MainWP Dashboard v5.4.0.23 corrected the flag icon displayed for the Catalan (ca) locale. We’ve also implemented some improvements for enhanced reliability of automatic updates, enabled REST APIv2 requests over HTTP protocol for localhost setups, and standardized translation and escaping functions for better text formatting throughout the Dashboard.
MainWP Child v5.4.0.15 has a fix that addresses Comments activity and how it shows up in reports, as well as an update that improves the output handling in the server information display. We’ve also updated the
delete_old_plugin() function to ensure all WordPress core actions and hooks are properly triggered during plugin deletion.
Together, these updates are about refinement making everyday management smoother and more dependable.

The Monster’s Award 2025 Voting is Going On and We Could Use Your Vote
Voting is now open in the TemplateMonster Monster’s Award, and MainWP is once again up for
Best Maintenance Plugin. These awards are driven entirely by the WordPress community, so your vote really does make the difference.
If MainWP has earned a spot in your workflow, we’d love your support. It only takes a moment, and every vote helps highlight the value of the self-hosted approach we all stand behind.
Early Release: Your Input, Our Next Release
The Early Release Program continues to be one of the most valuable ways you shape MainWP’s future. Every round of feedback helps us tighten performance, refine features, and catch things before they ever hit a stable release. If you’re not part of it yet, this is your chance to do more than just read changelogs — it’s your chance to influence them.
Whether you’ve been waiting for dark mode, faster handling of large sites, or smarter reporting, Early Release is where those ideas get tested and tuned. We depend on your input, and the sooner you jump in, the bigger impact you have.

Get Even More Out of MainWP With Pro
And when you’re ready to take it up a notch, the MainWP Pro Bundle is there to expand your capabilities even further. It’s designed to ensure you get the most out of every WordPress site you manage.
Two New KB Updates
This week we have two new knowledgebase updates. The first one is an FAQ which explains what can happen if your hosting platform replaces URLs in MainWP tables during a Dashboard domain change and how to
safely correct or prevent it.
We’ve also added troubleshooting notes to our article about managed backups which explains that Kinsta backups may fail if the wrong Environment ID is used, and that Plesk backups require the Site ID (not the Domain ID) for the API connection to work correctly.
This Week’s Quick Poll: It’s All about Security
Security has always been one of the cornerstones of MainWP, but it’s also something that goes far beyond any single tool. WordPress professionals know that keeping sites safe is a layered effort: updates, access, configurations, and people all play a role. This week we’d like to hear which part of that puzzle keeps you up at night the most.
Question: When it comes to site security, which area do you worry about the most?
Your responses are anonymous (no email address required) and will help us decide how we talk about early access, how we share new features, and how we invite more people into the process.
The future awaits!
Survey Says!
We also thought you’d like to see the results of last week’s survey, where we asked
How do you feel about joining the MainWP Early Release Program?
35.3% of you felt that it would be something you’d like to do but simply do not have the time. 29.4% felt that they only like to work with stable/final releases. Then, we had a 3-way tie at 11.8% between being all in, not knowing the program existed, and no need for early access.
Thank you, everyone, for the great response to this poll! We value your input in these polls every week as they help us shape our futures together.
