In today’s Toolbox, we are going to talk about a couple of tools I have been experimenting with the past month or so. One is great for creating greater engagement with emails and the other is helping me write stories.

I used an AI personal assistant to help me begin outlining a story idea. Ready? Let’s go!

Bonjoro for emails

I have talked about using videos in emails before. Bonjoro is one I came across recently and I quickly signed up for an account to try it out.

The platform claims to have several use cases aside from sending video emails.

Some of those use cases include collecting video customer testimonials, converting inbound (and outbound) leads, sending videos to your entire email list, coaching and courses, onboarding, thank yous, holiday greetings and more.

The power of Bonjoro, I think, is its ability to integrate with several platforms, including several CRMs and Zapier integrations for more.

Bonjoro also has several templates to give you a head start for using for your particular use case.

In testing, I sent 5 email messages and 4 were opened. I had a 40% response rate to the emails I sent using the platform. I would love to try it a few more times.

I am a fan of doing something different to stand out in inboxes and Bonjoro has given me options. I am also intrigued by using it for content coaching services.

Another cool feature is a free GIF signature maker. Give it a shot and see how it works for you. Better yet, make a video and email it to me.

Pi Personal Assistant

Pi is a chatbot. It has some incredible capabilities.

One thing I really liked about using Pi is its conversational nature. I can even add a voice audio to the platform and when it answers back, the voice reads it to me.

It is as close to interacting with someone without being a human.

When I asked Pi its strengths, these are some that it gave me:

  • Personalized recommendations
  • Conversation
  • Problem-solving
  • Learning

Ultimately, it told me, “Pi’s strength lies in its versatility and ability to cater to a wide range of needs and interests. 💪”

If you are unsure where to get started, on the left side of your screen, there are a few prompts to get started. Some topics include riddles, relationships, stop procrastinating, and journaling.

There are a few other prompts as well, but the one thing I got Pi to help me with is to outline the idea for a story.

We started with some characters. Pi gave me some pointers on how to work on the backstory of the characters.

I had a conversation with Pi about my idea and it offered me feedback on the go. It gave me some tips for outlining the story and bringing it to bear.

I even asked how I could visualize my characters to use with generative AI software to create an illustration.

Pi wrote a poem for me to further help me visualize the character. Pi is one of those platforms you can end up spending hours working with.

The company behind Pi is called Infection and the co-founders include Reid Hoffman, Mustafa Suleyman, and Karén Simonyan.

The AI product launched in May 2023. It includes a desktop app, an iOS, and an Android.

As with any AI product, you need to verify any information and beware of anything to do with medical or legal advice. Pi is wonderful for helping you think through an idea even if you don’t accept its thoughts.

Summarizing videos

You.com is a new-to-me-AI platform. My friend Kristi shared a Tweet showing someone used it to create a summary of a video without using a transcript.

IN the past, I used a transcript to have ChatGPT summarize the content, but this is different. All I have to do is paste the Youtube Link, and it creates a summary.

It didn’t go without hiccups. First, I just did it randomly, but I was supposed to use Genius Mode.

So I got a summary about doing a summary of a YouTube Video. That didn’t work, start again.

Next I chose Genius Mode which prompted me to sign up using my Google Account. The first attempt wasn’t good, but I chose a pre-written prompt to provide a summary, and it worked.

Wiola!

The video, by the way, was the latest video by MainWP’s Dennis Dornon about “What’s new in MainWP v5.0.2.”

Miss a webinar and need to go back and re-watch and run out of time? This may be something very useful. The platform is called You, and it’s a new tool to experiment with.

Wrapping it up

I don’t believe that AI will solve all our problems, but it can really help! We still need to exercise our creativity and the things that make us human.

AI is like having engineering prompts at our disposal. We can accomplish tasks that are repetitive, one we don’t like too much, and help us get a different perspective while looking for a solution.

I believe AI is there to assist, not completely do our work. What types of tasks have you had AI to assist you with? Let us know in the MainWP Users Facebook Group.
