Have you ever had that person, that one person, who always asks questions on Facebook that could easily be solved by searching on Google? I mean, they should know that it’s pretty simple, right?
Someone created a page a long time ago called Let me Google that For You. You may have used it. In this new era, the era of Zero Click Search, you knew someone was bound to do that using AI. We talk about that and more in this month’s edition of the MainWP Toolbox.
Today we are going to dive into a few new tools in this edition of the MainWP Toolbox!
Well, since Perplexity is becoming a de facto search engine for many people, Anjor Kanekar created the new “Let me (Search) Perplexity that for you.“
If you use Perplexity more than Google, and you want to help your annoying friend who depends on others to find info for him, then this tool might be for you.
Anjor calls himself a freelance hacker and a seasoned software developer and boasts over a decade of experience.
The project is an open source MIT License and resides on GitHub.
I created a query on “lmpty” for you to check out so you can see how it works.
You can see the results of the search in Perplexity below

Hat tip to Kristi Hines for sharing it and helping me find the developer.
Meta AI is new to me. I hadn’t used it on any of the mobile Facebook platforms. It launched in April of this year for the public.
Meta AI is powered by Meta’s Llama large language model. The latest version of Llama was released on July 23, 2024.
You can actually work with Llama yourself, which is fantastic for developers. Llama is open source and you learn more on their landing page.
Llama powers Meta AI, so I thought I would play with it a bit.
I created a few pictures, including a modern Lone Ranger which looks like an apocalyptic version. My description wasn’t very good.

When I asked Meta AI what it could do, this is what it told me:
“I can be used in a variety of ways, from helping you plan a vacation to creating art. I’m here to assist you in finding the help or information you need. My strengths include answering questions, generating text and images and even just chatting with you.”
The built in Imagine prompt is fascinating and it gives you starting points to experiment.
Once you create an image, you can edit or animate. I think we can let our imagination experiment with this and lose an entire afternoon.

Glitter is something I can see that has some real usefulness, especially if you have a team.
If you are at a place in your business where you are starting to scale and add people to your team, it can come in real handy.
Basically, you do a short screen share showing how you do a task. Then, the AI engine generates a how to documentation complete with screenshots from your screen share.
I found Glitter on Product Hunt and became very curious. Below, you can see my very simple instructions on creating a simple LinkedIn post.

I had every intention of trying out SearchGPT for you, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. I am, however, on the waiting list.

Danny Goodwin from Search Engine Land has an article about the new search engine, and I can only imagine that he got an inside look.
If you haven’t noticed, we are “moving faster than a heartbeat” towards a genitive AI search experience. In fact, as much as 60% of Google searches have ended without a single click according to an article on Search Engine Land.
The study was conducted by SparkToro’s Rand Fishkin and based on data from Datos.
Thus, I will check out SearchGPT when I have access. A recent video from Rand Fishkin on LinkedIn explains how we got to Zero Click Search.
Even though I like to talk about copywriting, content marketing, and brand awareness, I still love to play with technology.
In some cases, technology has allowed me to re-energize my creativity. What about you? Have you ever experimented with these tools? Let us know in Discord or MainWP Facebook Users Group.
