A few tools needed for building your landing page

WordPress Site Care Landing Pages

Heads up: This page may include affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

In recent years, website owners have seen the need to convert traffic coming to their websites. In some cases, they are paying to get the traffic, so they want to see they haven’t wasted their money.

This has given rise to online marketing, or the more popular term, inbound marketing.

This is where landing pages come in. Landing pages help to convert traffic. The conversion may be for an email list, to get a quote, or it may be to make a sell, but it takes a method and a purpose to “close to the sale.” Landing pages are vital piece of that puzzle.

Landing pages help provide a more distraction-free environment for users to click on the call to action you have created.

Contrary to a regular web page that has a header, navigation, a sidebar and a footer, the landing page removes most of those elements to funnel the user to the call to action.

A landing page is a crucial element of online marketing and represents the end of the sales funnel you have set up.

There are several types of landing page, each representing a different reason for using a landing page.

Types of landing pages

Lead Generation

A Lead Generation landing page is one of the most used types of landing pages for most website owners. The page’s goal is to get a user to sign up to your email list for an offer. This is called an optin.

Another type of Lead Generation page might be a service company using a landing page to request a quote or more information.

Both of these functions are very helpful in building a list of leads from which to generate business.

Each one of these can help you add leads to your Client Relationship Management software.

Click Through

When a company chooses to use pay per click ads, they will often set up a click through page that serves as a page to warm the lead.

According to the Landing Page Course:

“Click-through pages (sometimes called jump pages) are designed as a conduit between a marketing ad and its final destination. The goal of a click-through page is to “warm-up” the visitor to the product/service you are trying to sell.”

Sales Page

Landing pages can also be utilized for a sales page. The idea on a sales landing page is to present the product benefits and features, overcome customer objections, display testimonies, and close the sale.

These pages are usually much longer with multiple sections and multiple opportunities to click.

Content Landing Page

Content landing pages are a terrific use of a landing page for including links to evergreen content on your website and creating a cornerstone content page.

If you have built out a lot of content which rarely changes, crucial to informing and educating your customers, you can curate them all on one page to make easier for a user to find. Copyblogger has used this effectively.

Thank you page

Once the user takes the plunge to sign up for your email newsletter or download your cool piece of content, you will need a thank you page.

The thank you page will serve at least two reasons. First, it will confirm to the user that you have received their email. Second, it will thank them and tell them what’s next.

  1. Hey Todd,
I have personally used Beaver Builder to create landing pages and it works great! But, if you need more advanced functionality like A/B Split testing, conversion rate, and other analytics then Thrive is a good choice.
Beaver Builder is a versatile page builder built for performance and using it with proper Google Analytics integration can deliver great results and details about a campaign.
