There is a new image optimization service called Abraia. The service will be able to process JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, and WebP image files.

After you have installed and activated the plugin it will add a new menu item under;

Settings > Abraia

In order to be able to use the Abraia service, you will need to create a new account and then copy the API key into the plugins settings. You can set to have images automatically optimized on upload.

After you have added the API key into the setting now you can go to bulk optimize images that are in the sites media library. Currently on the free plan of Abraia it includes 500MB of data for images that can be optimized and also includes cloud backup storage. To be able to bulk optimize your site images you will need to go to;

Media > Bulk Abraia

You will now need to click on the bulk optimization button and you will see the number of images that have been optimized along with the reduction gains. If you need to purchase more credits to be able to optimize more images the prices for Abraia is very reasonable at $9 for 2GB of data, then all the way up to $29 for 9GB of data all, of the paid plans included 15 days of cloud backup.

Abraia is a very easy to use solid image optimization option that you can use on your child sites to improve the site load times by optimizing site images. Since the largest assets sizes on your child sites is likely to be the site images.
