Who is your favorite Superhero?
I liked several as a kid. One I have always liked was Batman. I am sure that had to do with the 60’s and 70’s show starring Adam West (I follow him on Facebook!).
I have watched all the iterations of the Batman movies that were in my lifetime. George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and most recently, Ben Affleck have all donned the caped crusader’s Bat suit.. (I’ll give Ben a pass after breaking it off with one of my crushes, Jennifer Garner).
I watched several of the Superman shows and movies as well. I remember George Reeves. That man was an icon.
I also watched the Justice League of America cartoon show in the 70’s.
Linda Carter was a fantastic Wonder Woman. Now, Gal Gadot has the magic lasso in the most recent movies.
Other superheroes I liked and like include Spider-Man (remember the 80’s show and the Electric Company?), The Lone Ranger, Zorro, and, of course, the Avengers.
I’m not quite sure that The Lone Ranger or Zorro are superheroes, but they were to me. Also, who can forget The Cisco Kid and Pancho?
There is something about a superhero that endears him or herself to us. In some ways, we all want to be a superhero.
I even created the idea for a couple of superheroes myself, but I never launched them. Maybe soon.
I think there are three things about Superheroes we are drawn to.
First, we all aspire to be a superhero to someone. We like helping people, and we like the feeling that we get when we do help someone.
Second, I think we are drawn to superheroes because they help us, the ordinary person. They have something we don’t have, an extraordinary power, a utility belt, sword fighting, a shield, or something else and they use that power to help us.
Another thing we like is that we know that, sometimes, the superheroes need our help. We have the chance to help our heroes when they need us. This draws us into the story.

In the world of managing WordPress websites, developers are the superheroes!
We are taking care of our clients’ websites for them and making sure things run smoothly. Additionally, if there is an emergency, we are there to put things back together.
Here are some ways that we can be superheroes while managing our clients’ websites.
Being a superhero is a time-consuming job and takes lots of energy. There is no need to waste our time on repeatable processes.
Superheroes let the police handle the regular crimes such as robbery. Superheroes cooperate with the police in this way. They save their energy for the bigger crimes, you know, like world domination.
WordPress superheroes do the same. They handle the everyday tasks by using tools. For example, WordPress maintenance software helps them coordinate the tasks they have to complete.
WordPress superheroes also keep client information safe and secure by choosing a maintenance program that they can host privately on their own hosting account or server.
Superhero: every superhero
A WordPress Superhero keeps his or her clients’ websites as fast a possible.
There are a couple of reasons speed matters. First, it matters for search engine optimization. Google takes speed into the equation when delivering website results.
Second, it matters for usability. Frankly, if a website doesn’t load within a couple of seconds, users will be gone. Gone. Gone.
This creates a high bounce rate, and, it means they won’t stick around long enough to find out what you are selling, sign up for your list or, more importantly, buy anything off your website.
We are in business to make money, right?
Bouncing is bad for websites. Speed is good
An excellent website maintenance superhero will make sure their client’s website is optimized for speed.
No superhero is faster than The Flash.
Be like The Flash.
Make your customer’s websites fast.
Superhero: the Flash
Managing a client’s website means you need to do regular maintenance. A good WordPress Superhero will make sure to do routine maintenance.
With a WordPress website, there is a need to regularly clean out the unnecessary junk, optimize the database and clear post revisions. All of this helps to keep the website optimized and running smoother (see Fast).
This is the kind of job we see from Peggy Carter, one of the founders of Shield. The Agents of Shield was the organization that, of course, helped organize and manage The Avengers.
No one embodies that kind of management better than Peggy Carter.

In the most recent movie Batman vs. Superman, the two superheroes decided they needed to form a team to fight the genetically altered beast. With help from Diana Prince, they were able to defeat the monster. As a result, the team realized they needed to have a team as a backup plan against super metahumans.
The result is the beginning of Justice League. The movie is set to release next year.
It takes a team to execute this backup plan. The Justice League uses teamwork and creates the backup plan needed to ensure the safety of people on earth.
To manage a WordPress website, our WordPress Superheros will utilize a backup plan and administrate various tasks among their teams. They know the importance of these two areas.
Superhero: Justice League
Instead of a support ticket system, Commissioner Gordon used the Bat Signal. You remember, the signal in the sky of a bat that signals to Batman he is needed.
Batman worked well with Gordon and Gotham City leaders (except that time they thought he killed Harvey Dent).
With all the technology and the massive computer system that Batman had, it stands to reason he might have used it to create reports for Gordon and the city. (Maybe not, I’m just speculating here)
Just like Batman, our WordPress Superheroes can run client reports.

Batman is not the only superhero with some massive tech powers. Tony Stark built his Iron Man suit with some innovative technology.
His suit was to help with security, for himself, and his country. He fights to protect the innocent people from those who wish to do harm.
Our WordPress Superheros also help keep websites in check with various security features.
Our superheroes take advantage of good security practice and the technology available to keep client websites safe.

Managing websites for your clients is a fantastic way to build recurring revenue into your WordPress business.
WordPress entrepreneurs can handle much of the regular maintenance tasks for a small monthly fee and help limit the stress of website owners.
In short, those that take on this task for their clients are heroes! They handle things like optimization, speed, backups, user role management, client reports, and backups.
WordPress entrepreneurs who take advantage of the tools built into the MainWP ecosystem are smart! Thankfully, MainWP has many extensions to help with these tasks.

Thanks, John! Yeah, slow loading website is a ticket to high bounce rate. Be like The Flash. Be fast! Thanks for commenting

Nice article Todd, my favourite superhero was spiderman which is surprising because I hate spiders! I too agree that speed is so important. If I visit a slow website I click away never to return!

Excellent points Todd!
Speed is paramount to the user experience. With so many solutions out there, if your website doesn’t load quickly it doesn’t matter if you sell fully functioning Iron Man suits- no one will stick around long enough to find out.

Thanks for the comments Sophia!
Yes, speed is the bomb! Gotta be like The Flash
