Product Updates

Last week’s MainWP updates focused on more accurate monitoring, clearer Network Activity records, broader backup support, and more predictable site management.

MainWP Dashboard 6.1.8 adds cache bypass controls for Uptime Monitoring and support for the Cloudways REST API v2. MainWP Child 6.1.8 improves BackWPup management, Network Activity tracking, Clone session security, and System Report controls.

MainWP Dashboard 6.1.8

MainWP Dashboard 6.1.8 adds the option to bypass cache during Uptime Monitoring checks. The setting can be configured globally or for individual monitors, allowing checks to request the current site response instead of relying on cached content.

API Backups now supports the Cloudways REST API v2 with access-token authentication. Existing legacy API credentials remain supported.

Network Activity also received several changes to make logs easier to review. Activity involving users, comments, URLs, site registration, homepage settings, date and time settings, updates, language, site titles, and site icons now uses clearer localized titles.

Entries for system settings and database changes also use more descriptive object titles. The default Network Activity configuration now excludes additional event types that are less useful during routine monitoring.

Self-connection checks have also been updated to use the standard AJAX endpoint with improved request and response validation.

MainWP Child 6.1.8

MainWP Child 6.1.8 improves BackWPup management across current and legacy versions.

Backup job validation, permissions, progress reporting, and start and stop actions have been updated to provide more consistent handling across different child site configurations. Success and error messages when stopping backup jobs are also clearer.

Network Activity now records theme updates performed directly from WP Admin. This provides a more complete activity history when changes are made outside the MainWP Dashboard.

Clone sessions now use stronger authentication and validation controls, including stronger session tokens and improved signature verification.

The release also fixes the Download and Hide buttons in the System Report so both controls work as expected.

Documentation Updates

UpdraftPlus Premium Bulk Connect now verifies full activation, identifies required account actions, and protects Premium installations from replacement by the free package.

Dashboard Insights now provides clearer activity context while disabling several noisy events by default.

Cloudways API Backups now use Access Tokens for new connections, while existing legacy credentials remain supported.

Uptime Monitoring adds global and per-site cache-bypass controls for more accurate checks behind caching layers.

The abandoned plugins and themes guide now includes a video tutorial and clarifies that manual checks remain available even when no abandoned items are listed.
