So this is Christmas and the movies we love

Every year during this time, I like to do something fun for the MainWP Blog. I did a parody of ‘Twas Night Before Christmas a couple years ago. Last year we did a Q&A with Santa. This year, I decided to talk about Christmas movies. So, in preparation, I peeked my head inside the MainWP Users Facebook Group and asked a question while hoping Ivica didn’t ban me. With that, I will tell you about the movies they mentioned and toss in some of my favorite holiday songs. Fred Claus the Movie One of our members mentioned this movie. I’ll

Web Care Survey 2022: The Results

Last year, I got the idea of running a Web Care Survey. Web Care Consultants are an invaluable part of the WordPress community. WordPress websites need someone to take care of them. MainWP is one of the top providers of Web Care tools and we have a whole community of Web Care Consultants. So I thought I would run a survey. In 2021, we received 131 submissions. This year, I was really hoping to double that. If not double, I really hoped to have 200 responses. See the results of the 2021 survey here. Unfortunately, we did not get 200

Recap 2022 MainWP Blog: The Q&A Articles

In June 2016 (yikes!), I wrote my first article for MainWP. It has been quite a ride. I have enjoyed it and enjoy the freedom to write articles I like to write. One of those types of articles are Q&A articles. I first learned to write these when I was a Startup & Tech writer for a statewide publication in Arkansas. I took the idea and created my own spin on it and I can often be found calling them a podcast interview in text. They are fun. I get to interview interesting people and showcase makers in the WordPress

November Toolbox: Your year-end evaluations can generate extra revenue

In this month’s Toolbox, we are going to talk about how you can help your clients and generate extra revenue. Gather around friends. I’m going to help you earn money during the month of December. December is typically a slow month for many people in the WordPress Web Care business. You likely aren’t building any new websites and you are spending most of your time taking care of your client websites using MainWP. But I have an idea. You can sell your client on an end-of-year evaluation of their websites to help them find improvement for the next year. If

Q&A with Kathy Zant Director of Marketing at StellarWP

In this month’s Q&A, we visit with Kathy Zant, a long time geek who started creating websites with Active Server Pages. Kathy is the Director of Marketing at StellarWP. When she isn’t wrangling WordPress products, she loves hanging out with her husband, her dog, and fosters kittens. What is your WordPress origin story? I actually started developing data-driven sites before it was cool to do so. Active Server Pages and SQL Server, but moved to PHP/MySQL around 2000 for my personal projects. It was even before PHPMyAdmin had to do everything on the command line. WordPress used the same PHP
