Introducing Jetpack Scan and Jetpack Protect Extension

On the first day of our Anniversary Week, we released MainWP 4.4, featuring significant improvements to the user interface, the introduction of Guided Tours, enhanced client and tag management, and the addition of the “Cache Control” Extension.

The second day, we released the “SSL Monitor” Extension, which streamlines your workflow and saves you time by automatically checking for SSL expiry date, issuer, and validity for all Child Sites.

🎉 Today marks the 3rd day of our Anniversary Week, and I am excited to announce the Jetpack Scan and Jetpack Protect Extensions.

Both were developed as part of our partnership with the Jetpack by Automattic.

Jetpack Scan Extension

The “Jetpack Scan” (Beta) Extension simplifies scanning all your Child Sites for potential security weaknesses. With this extension, you can obtain detailed information about each vulnerability and resolve most issues with a single click.

Please note that it requires the Jetpack plugin on your Child Sites and a Jetpack Scan subscription, which can be obtained at a discount within the MainWP Dashboard.

Jetpack Protect Extension

Like Jetpack Scan, Jetpack Protect also scans for vulnerabilities in the WordPress core, themes, and plugins on all the Jetpack Protect plugins installed in Child Sites.

This requires installing the Jetpack Protect plugin on your Child Sites.

Differences Between Jetpack Scan & Jetpack Protect

Jetpack Protect runs automated scans once a day. However, Jetpack Scan provides on-demand scan options on top of automatic scans.

Jetpack Protect is a free standalone plugin, while Jetpack Scan needs the Jetpack plugin to work.

With the Jetpack Scan subscription, you get priority support from the Jetpack team.

  • Would it be possible to output some security stats from this extension into the Reports Pro functionality?

  • Seem that Jetpack Protect Extension brings something like the automatic Security Scans in iThemes Security as a standalone Plugin.

For Jetpack protect you do not need the JetPack (Parent) Plugin… 😉

  • I don’t ever plan to install the JetPack plugin on a website again.
