MainWP 6.1.6: Better Site Visibility, Uptime Monitoring & REST API Workflows

Last week’s MainWP updates focused on better site visibility, more reliable monitoring, and continued REST API improvements.

MainWP Dashboard 6.1.6 also introduces a redesigned Connection Status widget, making it easier to identify connection issues and reconnect affected sites without leaving the Dashboard.

MainWP Dashboard 6.1.6

MainWP Dashboard 6.1.6 improves several areas agencies rely on during routine site management.

The redesigned Connection Status widget now includes tabbed filtering, live connection totals, paginated site details, and the option to reconnect sites directly from the widget. Staging site reporting has also been improved, giving you a clearer view of connection health across your managed sites.

Site Health reporting received additional fixes so scores more accurately reflect the actual state of each site, including cases where health data is missing or malformed.

Uptime Monitoring has also been refined. Sites are now reported as DOWN more accurately when no HTTP response is received, while retry scheduling has been improved to make follow-up checks more reliable.

The release also includes a substantial set of REST API improvements. Validation, schemas, pagination, monitoring settings, and response handling have all been refined to provide more consistent behavior for integrations and custom workflows. Sensitive and internal data is also excluded more consistently from API responses.

Finally, site removal handling has been improved for hosting environments where the process could previously remain stuck in a “Removing” state.

MainWP Child 6.1.6

MainWP Child 6.1.6 focuses on improving the BackWPup integration.

Backup timestamps now use more consistent timezone handling, while error and response processing during backup operations has been strengthened.

These changes help keep backup information consistent between the MainWP Dashboard and connected child sites while improving how unexpected BackWPup responses are handled.

MainWP Add-ons

Termageddon for MainWP 3.0

Termageddon for MainWP 3.0 adds a useful workflow improvement for agencies already managing Termageddon policies on existing client sites.

Previously, the add-on could create new WordPress pages for your Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, EULA, and Disclaimer. With version 3.0, those policies can now be mapped to pages that already exist on connected child sites.

This means you can keep an existing Termageddon setup without creating duplicate pages or rebuilding the site’s policy structure just to manage it through MainWP. Find the existing page, assign it to the appropriate policy, and continue managing it from your Dashboard.

The update also refreshes the policy management workflow with searchable page selectors, clearer policy statuses, improved filtering, better bulk publishing feedback, and clearer connection and status messages.

For agencies bringing existing Termageddon sites into MainWP, it removes an unnecessary setup step and makes policy management easier to fit into an established workflow.

Documentation Updates

New: The Claude Code Plugin guide explains how to install the MainWP MCP server, agent skill, and ten ready-made workflow commands with two commands.

New: Custom Add Site Tabs shows how to extend the MainWP Dashboard Add Site screen with custom navigation and content for specialized workflows.

MainWP MCP configuration now covers first-run setup, secure credential options, in-chat configuration, connection retries, password rotation, and switching Dashboards.

The expanded Direct Cron Workers guide clearly distinguishes the recommended external WP-Cron setup from advanced direct workers, with schedules, coverage limitations, and safeguards against incomplete configurations.

MainWP REST API guidance now includes the complete OpenAPI specification for Postman imports and client generation, plus expanded Add-on endpoints and corrected Client Fields pagination.

The Termageddon guide now covers creating or linking policy pages, relinking and unlinking without deleting content, managing API keys, and monitoring Policy Set statuses.

Updated Virusdie troubleshooting distinguishes plan limitations from synchronization failures and helps diagnose credential problems, security restrictions, firewalls, and child-to-Dashboard connectivity.

The Vulnerability Checker guide now explains automatic-check schedules, when result emails are generated, and how MainWP chooses notification recipients.

Manage Backups now clearly distinguishes Kinsta restore points from downloadable ZIP backups and explains how MainWP retrieves exports created in MyKinsta.
