MainWP is coming out of Beta!
We’ve come a very long way in a short time and as MainWP approaches leaving its Beta phase we are excited to announce some major changes.
First, we are moving the MainWP Dashboard to WordPress.org and making it free for everyone!
How Does MainWP Being Free Affect Me?
Don’t worry if you were a paying MainWP Beta user we have you covered, we are giving our users over $90,000 in credit to the Extension store . Your individual credit is equal to the amount of your original payment.
For example if you purchased the Pro Plan you will receive a $79 credit and a separate email has already been sent to the email address we have on file and it contains your coupon code.
Next we are removing the following sections from the MainWP Dashboard and re-adding them as paid Extensions; Remote Backups, Google Analytics, Heatmaps, Cloning and Comments.
How Does Removing these Sections Affect Me?
This will allow us to update these sections independently from the MainWP Dashboard and allow us to push faster bug fixes and updates.
Once again as Beta customer you automatically have these Extensions added to your Extension account at no charge. You can verify this by visiting the Extension Store and looking under the “My Account” tab you will see these Extensions listed and ready for your use.
Finally, the MainWP Forum is going to be more community focused and the Ticket section will only be for users with support plans.
How Does the Change in Support Affect Me?
If you are a paying MainWP Beta user your support will be upgraded to the Paid Support Plan at no additional cost.
If you are just signing up or were a free MainWP Beta user then your support will now be provided on the forum, you will no longer have access to Support tickets unless you purchase a support upgrade.
Okay, I understand the changes so what do I need to do?
If you are an existing MainWP customer you will want to download and install the MainWP Dashboard version from the Members area this version contains all the new Extensions. You know if you have the correct version if it reads 1.01.
If you decide to do the automatic update you will have version 1 and can still get the extensions from your account on extensions.mainwp.com
What does all this mean for MainWP?
We will continue to release our own extensions on https://mainwp.com/mainwp-extensions/ and continue to expand on the MainWP codex giving third party developers an attractive platform to develop for.
We hope these changes insure the future viability of the MainWP Plugin by placing it in front of the millions of WP users and developers in order to keep it growing.
I am extremely proud of everything that MainWP has achieved during it’s Beta and believe we have developed an extremely flexible, functional and user friendly alternative to other WordPress management plugins and to the WordPress multi-site setup.
Thanks!
