Increasing engagement with your Facebook posts: 5 tips to help

Trust me when I say this, Facebook posting is an enigma for many of your customers. Some customers don’t use Facebook on their own, so they don’t care. This is a mistake as their customers are already on the platform, regardless the age. Facebook has over 2.5Billion users. They can’t dismiss it. Some customers are disinterested because they don’t use Facebook. Some are believers, and only believers in traditional marketing. Some are afraid to use it, and they will often talk about regulations. Then you have those who try to use Facebook. They try all kinds of things and rarely

Fall in love with taglines that captures the essential part of your company’s message

When I worked for an agency, guess who got to do a lot of pre-launch and post-launch checklists for websites? You guessed it, me. That’s okay; I’m a stickler about getting all the boxes marked; however, over time, I learned others didn’t see the value. Anyway, we had some fairly mundane things to do, like making sure the timezone was correct, adding something for the website title in the settings. Something that would come up regularly was what to put in the tagline. If you didn’t know, the WordPress dashboard has a place in the settings to add a tagline.

Screencasting apps to help capture you expertise like a pro

I’ve been trying to do more videos for my business. One thing I’ve done is launch a Youtube show. In 2019 I experimented with some Facebook lives. Sometimes we just need to be comfortable being in front of the camera. Using video can be a huge help for our business. For example, recording or taking a pic of your screen or desktop can be helpful to our customers. Screencasting is something that benefits them and helps us stand out from everyone else. There are plenty of options for screencasting, and today we are going to look at some of those

The future of WordPress: Here are my predictions for WordPress and the industry in 2020

We are standing on the edge of a gorge looking off into the future of 2020 in the WordPress industry. Look closely. What do you see? I can see a few things, and I have outlined them in this article. Am I right? Am I wrong? We will only know this time next year. I think most of these things will happen, but it might take more than 12 months. So today, I bring to you my almost, kind of, sort of 2020 predictions for the future of WordPress. Most of these effect WordPress, some, the broader digital marketing industry.

5 things to remember while getting ready for 2020

If you have seen the movie It’s a Wonderful Life, you know the story of a man who sacrificed his own dreams to help build others. George Bailey gave up traveling the world to keep the building and loan business going so that people would have a place to live. After his uncle lost a large sum of money (actually stolen by the villain) and facing possible jail time, Bailey thought the best thing he could do was to leave his life behind. But God and Clarence had other ideas. Clarence, his guardian angel, showed him what life would be

A trip down memory lane at the MainWP blog in 2019

Looking back on 2019 at the ManiWP blog When the ball drops in your part of the year and the calendar turns over to 2020, what will you be doing? Most years, I’m in bed. You? I am thinking about going to a New Year’s Eve party this year and listen to some Blues music. As we approach the end of the year, we often start looking back on the year we are completing. It’s good to look back and see where things went wrong and right. Since we are a few days from the end of December and I

Q&A with WordPress expert Carrie Dils

One morning, when I lived in Fort Worth, TX, I was going to work. It was sometime in the late 2000s, maybe in 2008. I needed coffee. The powers to be had built a Starbucks on my way to work, so I swung by for a quick cup of joe. When I walked in, this young lady, one of the baristas, was singing. I called her the “Singing Barista.” She had a fun, energetic personality. A few years later, I relocated to Arkansas, my home state. I began to delve even more into the WordPress arena. I began using the

Jan Koch launches the WP Agency Summit to help agency owners scale their business

It’s that time of year. The time of year where we tend to lose focus, and we start to lose motivation to do work. For those of us in the United States, we are stuffed. Before you give up all hope to work, don’t forget we still have a month left! And today, I am going to offer up some events you need to mark on your calendar, including the WP Agency Summit. So, saddle up, my friend. Let’s
